When did you get Engaged?

When did you get married?
May 17, 2015

How did you go about planning your wedding?
My mom and her boss have impeccable taste. They ordered a ton online (she came up with the idea of crystals. All our decorations were aubergine, platinum and crystal. I found a number of ideas on Pinterest and I’ve been to so many weddings you pick up ideas on what you want and don’t want.

What is the most important thing that had to be right? I heard so many horror stories of weddings I was just hoping that nothing catastrophic happened and that through any minor problems I wouldn’t become a bridesilla.

Why did you choose your dress and how much was it? My dress was $1400. I chose it because it was the best option I could find in one day. I liked the lace and I wanted something that wouldn’t make me look fat.

How much on photography, why did you that photographer? $2300, I chose her because meeting with her she was friendly and easy to work with. She wanted to do an engagement shoot ahead of time to get to know us a little better which I appreciated. She also did a boudoir shoot which was unique from a lot of other photographers. And she was also a cheaper option then many others in town.

What was the best part of your day and why?  It’s hard to pick because it was such a good day. The best part was being able to relax and enjoy it. We laughed, we joked, we had so much fun and we got to do it with all of our friends!

If you could do it all again what is one thing you would change?  If I could change anything I would be a less strict with the guest list. Looking back there are some people I wish I had invited but I was so concerned with keeping it small and simple that I didn’t invite people that should have been there.

If you could tell a future bride one thing she needs to do to make her day perfect what would that be? If I could tell a future bride anything it would be that things are going to go wrong. As bad as it may sound the higher your expectations the worse your day is going to be. Plan as much as possible a head of time, so that when the day comes, you have done as much as you possibly can and you can relax. Have someone designated to deal with any issues that come up, make sure they are well informed with the details. Enjoy all the hard work you’ve put in, make an effort to visit with all the friends and family that traveled to spend the day with you.
